When we think about marketing we do not necessarily associate it to science but to art and design because we are used to think like that.
As I learned more about neuroscience and it’s connection to marketing I was able to open my mindset and realize the presence of a new scientific area in marketing called neuromarketing.
And that was enough science for me, really, or at least I thought so until I stumbled upon a Ted Talk thanks to my Marketing teacher’s assignment.
The Ted Talk I will refer to in this article is called “What physics taught me about marketing” by Dan Cobley .
As the title suggests the main message of this Ted Talk is how physics can actually apply to marketing and can teach us something more than just the law of thermodynamics.
There are 4 main theories that the talk focuses on summarized below:
1. The bigger the mass of an object the more force is needed to change its direction
This physics theory explains how if an object has a large mass it will require more force than a object with a smaller mass to change its direction. The same applies to Marketing.
