What I learned in University Blog #2
As I previously mentioned on my first blog, this last spring semester I took a class called “Neuromarketing” and now I am here to share what I learned because I believe it could be really help full for marketers, entrepreneurs or anyone wanting to increase their awareness with their everyday social platforms.
Today I am going to talk about how to get your customer HOOKED.
By hooked I mean create and instill an habit in their mindset. Creating an habit is a must for your product, once you do that you won’t have to rely on continuously marketing but you will have formed a habit on your user daily routine attached to a trigger.
To form an habit a user needs to go through the called “Hook Cycles”, that will bring back the user, this are:
- Trigger
- Action
- Investment
- Variable Reward
As an example to explain better how to turn your app or product into an habit I’ll use as example Venmo.
Venmo is an app that offers users the possibility to pay friends and family through a venom account by linking to the user’s bank account or debit card.
Trigger:
- External Trigger:
The Venmo app has been focusing on two types of external trigger to hook users to their app and service.
